The Paul Thomas directed feature is the first North American adult film released on Blu-ray. Vivid as they did with the regular DVD format several years ago takes the plunge on this cutting-edge technology. After several weeks of delays, DDDA was finally released.

The 1080p Blu-ray addition is presented in widescreen 1.85:1 ratio and encoded in the less advanced MPEG-2 codec while the audio was encoded in Dolby Digital at 48 kHz at 192 Kbps. Besides the techno mumbo-jumbo, the audio came in clear without any difficulty discerning what the actors were saying. However, the visual aspect suffered from ‘noise’ and was more apparent with fleshtone colors. There’s been considerable worriness from pornstars regarding how much detail that High Definition brings. Don’t fret because the only negative aspect I saw was how clear cellulite is seen amongst some unnamed stars. Other than that, pornstars shouldn’t worry at the moment since this is not in your face gonzo, which should easily show people’s flaws.
Extras include a 30+ minute BTS (in 720p), ‘alternate angle’ sex scenes, and a photogallery. There’s really not much to discuss about the extras except that the BTS is worthy of one go-through, but it’s definitely not going through twice.
The movie focuses on ‘Debbie’ (Stefani Morgan) who dies abruptly when her arch-enemy, played by Monique Alexander, on the cheerleading squad flashes some skin enough to distract the male cheerleaders from catching her.
‘Debbie’ lands in heaven and meets her guardian angel with a less-than-authentic-sub-English accent played by Penny Flame. ‘Debbie’ gets reincarnated into a nerdy looking gal played by Hillary Scott and through her, ‘Debbie’ seeks to level the playing field and get back what Monique stole from her . . . her man and the respect from the cheerleading team.
In terms of acting, the girls less Penny Flame gave great performances and their acting is right above the acting you would expect from rival company, Wicked Pictures. Both Hillary Scott and Stefani Morgan gave noteworthy acting performances. In contrast, the males headed by Derrick Pierce and others did not perform as well.
The movie has seven scenes, which is or becoming the standard number of sex scenes in the industry. Without giving a detailed ‘thesis’, it’s fair to say that the movie had several heated moments. For example, the sixth scene, starred Hillary Scott as the reincarnated ‘Debbie’ getting it on with Cassidey and Derrick in the locker room. Another scene worth discussing is the last scene starring the pornstar-cum-wine entrepeneur, Savanna Sampson, in an orgy scene complete with smoking oral and hot anal action. NOTE: All intercourse scenes are condom-only!
In summary, DDDA is a very watchable porno flick with high production values despite the visual ‘noise’. Everything from the acting, to the R&B/Rap cheerleading music, and sexy dance routines were great. There’s a gamut of sex scenes, which should satisfy both hardcore and not so hardcore tastes. Because of the acting and the variety of sex scenes, this movie is couples-friendly. But, extreme raincoaters may find this ‘lite’ as Germans think of American beer as ‘wasser’.
